The big news came over the summer, and we're announcing it today: NUMA is now certified B Corp.
We're very proud to join the community of 330 B Corp companies in France and 7,000 worldwide who are leading a global movement for a more inclusive, equitable and regenerative economy.
B corp is a certification from B-Lab and an international community of companies with a proven commitment to combining positive impact and profitability . B-Lab is an independent non-governmental organization present in 74 countries.
The very principle of the B-corp label is to highlight companies that demonstrate a willingness to act responsibly towards their community and environment. To assess the efforts made by candidate B-corp companies, parent company B-Lab has created a 200-question questionnaire, the "B impact assessment", covering 5 criteria: employees, corporate governance, the community, the environment and customers.
Some certified companies: Ben&Jerry's, Patagonia, Innocent, Luko, Welcome to the Jungle, Back Market, Big Mama, Brut, Bledina, Chloé, Cojean, Citizen Capital, Daphni, Dynamo Cycling, Faguo, Gojob, Le Slip Français, Morning, MySezame (Kea Partners), Naturalia, Octo, One Point, Phenix, Sézane, Utopie, Ulule, Colombus consulting, Gojob, Mirova, Openclassrooms.
Our responses and NUMA documentation were evaluated by a B Lab auditor throughout the process. We have therefore embarked on this process in 2021, and have since put in a considerable amount of collective work to structure and formalize our best practices.
NUMA achieved a total of 81.6 points, which can be viewed by all here. Now that the minimum score of 80 points has been reached, our efforts in the various areas will be maintained and pursued with a view to retaining this precious label at the next assessment, which will take place in 3 years' time.
Setting an example and inspiring leaders
At NUMA, it's the employee pillar that earned us the most points, attesting to our determination to place employee well-being and transparency at the heart of our model, and to set an example for tomorrow's leaders.
Here are a few examples of existing practices and processes that we have formalized or consolidated:
For our customers and partners - it's part of NUMA's ongoing role as a laboratory for the future of work.
