Managing managers: challenges and issues

In this new episode of Pieds dans le Plat, Claudio Vandi interviews Chloé Beaumont, Head of Design and Strategic Marketing at MAIF.

Managing managers.

This is the next step, and almost the meta episode of all the previous ones. On the surface, the challenges are the same: recruitment, setting up rituals, the need for feedback... But the task is more complicated. It's no longer a question of simply recruiting a team to carry out a specific project, but of recruiting those who can lead a team in a certain direction.

When she joined MAIF, Chloé Beaumont was "just" a manager, building up her various teams. Over a period of several years, her department grew and Chloé became a Manager of Managers. And she had to relearn a lot of things.

So in this new episode, she explains all the challenges she's had to face:

  • What profiles should you look for when recruiting managers?
  • How do you strike the right balance between strategy and operations?
  • What relationship should you adopt with your managers?
  • What information should be communicated in what timeframe?

Enjoy!
